Bosworth Links Test-Pit Results Announced

New evidence of Bronze Age and Anglo-Saxon activity found in community archaeological dig at Market Bosworth.

Following up on the very successful community archaeological dig at Market Bosworth in July 2017, University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) are pleased to reveal the full results of Bosworth Links Dig 1.

Over one weekend in July, over 200 volunteers and students from the local community dug 25 test-pits across the town, recovering a remarkable 8,534 individual finds ranging in date from the Early Bronze Age, some 3,500-4,500 years ago, to the present day.

Now, a feedback meeting in the town, and the premier of a short film about the dig, has unveiled the results which are now available in full at:
